Worked closely with Mid-Atlantic Consortium of Education Foundations (MACEF) to establish The Green Dragon Foundation (GDF)

GSD was incorporated on April 21, 2008. Founding members include: Christopher E. Baylor, Andrea L. Bertram, Mark D. DiRocco, R. Brooks Gronlund, Robert J. Kallin, Graham C. Showalter, Kathy K. Swope, Ann R. Sherpick, Maurice Brubaker, Judith T. Wagner, Mark E. Temple, and Robert W. Donehower.

Search for executive director begins

First executive director, Ann Glock, hired on a part-time basis


April 2009

GDF becomes an approved 501 (c)(3) charitable organization

Developed GDF logo


April 2009

Initial Lewisburg Area School District (LASD) programs for GDF support were identified and approved by GDF board


May 2009

GDF is registered as a charitable organization with the PA Bureau of Charitable Organizations


June 2009

GDF is approved as an Educational Improvement Organization (EIO) with Pennsylvania’s DCED


June 2009

Established GDF office in Spring Run Business Development within Brookpark Farms, Lewisburg


July 2009

Created GDF group on Facebook and LinkedIn

Launched GDF Web site (www.greendragonfoundation.org)


August 2009

GDF was introduced at LASD’s convocation of teachers/staff


September 2009

GDF conducts three focus groups


October 2009

Bucknell University’s marketing executives begin working with the GDF to help develop the organization’s marketing and communications strategy

Held 1st donor event at Normington Home

GDF makes presentations to area service clubs and PASR (LASD retired teachers/staff organization)

GDF gave LASD $40,000


March 2010

Published first issue of The Green, a semi-annual fundraising newsletter for LASD


July 2010

Published its first Annual Report (2009-2010 school-year)


December 2010

Held 2nd Annual Donor Recognition Reception at The Campus Theatre

Gave LASD $61,252 for a cumulative total of $101,252


September 2011

Held 1st Annual LAHS Alumni Weekend in partnership with the LAHS Alumni Association

Part-time executive director, Ann Glock, is hired full-time

Established its 1st endowment – The Josephine K. Machamer Steele Endowment to benefit district-wide special needs and student support programs and LAHS girls’ basketball

Established “The 1885 Society” the foundation’s legacy society with first member, T. Patrick Collins.

Hosted 2nd Annual Brandon S. Kramm Memorial Golf Tournament to benefit the memorial endowment

Established The Green Horizons Endowment to benefit LAHS athletic programs and facilities, marching band and choir, arts and science programs through a planned gift.
