Linntown Gives to Greed Dragon Foundation Through Annual Pops Concert

The first Pops Concert was held in 1970 under the leadership of then Bucknell band and choir director, Alan Flock.  Professor Flock invited the Lewisburg elementary choruses to join him in creating a partnership between the two groups to benefit the Lewisburg community. For 45 years, this partnership has thrived and the Pops Concert has become one of the highlights of students’ elementary years. Over the past four decades, Evangelical Community Hospital, the LAEA Provisional Fund and the American Red Cross have been recipients of funds raised from the concert. This year’s beneficiary was The Green Dragon Foundation, tagged specifically for the visual and performing arts district-wide fund. As recipients of many Green Dragon Foundation funds, Linntown is excited to be able to donate to this supporting organization. “The Green Dragon Foundation has given so much to us over the years that we wanted to give back,” acknowledged Mrs. Paula Reber, Linntown principal. “The students feel good and have an understanding of what it means to give back to the community through this gift.” The foundation is touched by this donation designated for enhancing visual and performing arts at LASD.
