Family & Consumer Science Classes Receive New Equipment

Last Updated 12/11/2024

Last spring, funding from The Green Dragon Foundation enabled the Family and Consumer Science classes at Donald H. Eichhorn Middle School to receive new equipment. Students gained access to five new sewing machines, three new irons, and other supplies. In addition, fabric was purchased for 36 students in need to use for their pillowcase assignments.  Executive Director Ann Glock added, “We are proud to be able to support an important part of the middle school curriculum which teaches real-life skills to our students.”

These new items will improve the students’ experience while enhancing their safety in the classroom. FCS teacher Heidi Schwarz-Hosler noted, “As every student in the middle school building will use the sewing machines and ironing boards during 7th grade FCS, hundreds of students (perhaps thousands) will be served by these funds.”
