There is nothing quite like the feeling of coming home; and for Lewisburg Area High School alumni that is exactly what a visit to the Heritage Room brings. The Heritage Room has a wonderful collection of memorabilia, including a complete collection of yearbooks dating back to 1926, a megaphone from the early '60's, old varsity jackets, letter sweaters, and the shovel used at the groundbreaking for the new school. The placard of distinguished alumni is housed there along with memorials to Ray Goulstone and Donnie Bitner, beloved classmates who passed away.

"It is so nice to have a place to keep all of our treasures, where people can see and enjoy them," said Barbara Baylor '64. The room is a lovely space with many interesting things to see, but as she continued, "You can have the greatest space possible, but if you don't open it to people, it's not worthwhile". The room is designed to be a useful place where alumni can meet with students for career counseling, hold a meeting or possibly host a small reception following a music performance. Christin Folker '09 is a fourth year medical student who came back to speak to students in April about considering careers in the medical field.

The Heritage Room is a unique way of honoring the past as we go forth with a bright future in a new school. Donations of memorabilia are always welcome. The Green Dragon Foundation was happy to partner with the LAHS Alumni Association through generous donations to both organizations that made this wonderful project a reality.
